Working alongside one of Australia’s leading experts in germicidal ultraviolet technology, VRM Enterprises developed the LightWave Shopping Trolley Disinfecting Module — an advanced UV-C disinfection system designed specifically for supermarkets, shopping centres and retail environments.
Originally emerging from years of experience in metal fabrication and shopping trolley manufacturing, the idea behind LightWave was simple: create a fast, effective and chemical-free way to disinfect shopping trolleys and baskets while improving customer confidence and reducing operational mess.
Designed and manufactured in Australia, the LightWave system uses specialised germicidal UV-C technology to help eliminate microorganisms including SARS-CoV-2, E. coli and Salmonella. Unlike traditional cleaning methods that rely on wipes, sprays or liquids, LightWave provides a completely dry disinfection process in as little as four seconds.
The enclosed module is engineered to disinfect up to 10 shopping trolleys or baskets simultaneously using high-performance ultraviolet lamps and advanced reflective technology to maximise efficiency and exposure. With a lamp life of approximately 12,000 hours and minimal maintenance requirements, the system is built for long-term commercial use.
